Yep, musicians at play...for 60
years! They've played rural beer joints, international jazz
festivals, cruises, jazz clubs, funerals, class reunions,
zillions of conventions, weddings, county fairs, Catholic
girl's school graduations and divorce celebrations. This fun-loving
gang of musicians play New Orleans, small group Big Band,
Chicago, Saloon Favorites and a little Western Swing. Listeners
and dancers delight in their toe-tapping rhythms.
Founded by Bill Borcher, well known on the West Coast for
athletics and internationally known in the traditional jazz
field, the eight-piece Oregon Jazz Band has been entertaining
audiences since 1947. Featuring virtuosity, versatility and
showmanship, the band's purpose has always been to entertain
their audiences...and to be invited back!
America's
Longest-Established Dixieland Band showcases a blend of traditional jazz, swing
and novelty tunes. Bill Borcher's Oregon Fugitives have been entertaining audiences
since 1947. Dancers and listeners, from rural beer joints to international jazz
festivals, have enjoyed the toe-tapping rhythms and engaging presentations from
this entertaining group.
The band is tied for fifth place in the longevity ranking among
